IT ACTUALLY IS JULY EVEN THOUGH THE DATE SAYS JUNE 30th, I COULDN'T FIX IT. IT'S JULY SECOND
Yesterday and the day before at work, i cleaned the lobby, sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, keeping the drink /condiment bar stocked with stuff. and now my legs are sore. :(
It was my mom's birthday yesterday! And she's coming home tomorrow. I got to see my friends again yesterday after over 2 weeks, while they were in Jamaica on a missions trip which, in January, i didn't think i'd be here to go on. :( We saw pictures of our new apartment--and it looks pretty nice. It has wooden floors, instead of tile. A couple of my friends are sadder than i am that i don't have my old one anymore. hehe. I just think it was soo nice that we even got such a big one for so long in the first place. I don't have to work for 3 days, which is nice. I feel bad for most of the people I work with there, cuz they work a LONG time, ALL the time...and that would be depressing. I'm just there for the summer, but some ppl have been there for yrs, and might STILL be there in a couple years. I think it's sad.
I also think it's giving me an allergy or SOMETHING, cuz whenever i'm there, walking back and forth through the kitchen, i get this like wierd nasal congestion or something like that, and it's what i imagine having an allergy would feel like-even though i don't have any. (That i know of, at least). Anyway. I want to do something fun today. I'm glad it's not as hot here as it is in Romania. It's actually really cool. (no pun intended)

Wooooooooooooooooooooh
Praise the LORD, we DID get the apartment two floors down from our old one! :D They lowered the price!!!! I am ecstatic :) And it happened JUST in time before we are gonna move everything. We've gone through about 4 different possiblilities of where to put the stuff, and this is the best thing God could've given us!

i'm lovin' it!
Well, that might be jumping the gun, cuz i'm only spent 3 hours there so far. (At McDonald's, I mean). What I got to do, though, was get changed into uniform (as seen below) :), And, after driving BACK home to get my brother's black, big, tennis shoes, cuz the ones they ordered for me weren't there yet, I was directed to a girl named Laura who was to train me. Laura is Korean, which I told her why i thought that was cool, cuz i love koreans :D. And she gave me a headset, and explained which button to push to talk to the people in the drive-thru, and I learned how to take their orders. It's really easy, with a touch-screen and pictures of all the stuff :) There was an older man with us, working the register at the window we were next to. Yahh. At first I just watched Laura do it all, then she took the order, while i entered it onto the screen. (We could both hear the same thing). Then i got to the point where i did it all myself, but she still told me what to push exactly for different options like a meal, or not a meal, and whatever. I will say that now i will never have trouble knowing what to order at an American Mcdonald's now! :D (i still didn't know up to today what to say to get what i could order as a "meniu dublucheese" in romania :D I also learned that you can tell a lot about a person from just their voice. They're gender, (duh), age, nationality, and usually their overal attitude, or disposition at the moment :D The whole thing was very educational. I'm looking forward to doing it. But I don't work again till Saturday.

THE Orientation
Yes, that is supposed to be all caps. :O
I went to my McDonald's job orientation yesterday.
And yes, it did mean I got the job, because they said that was our first day,
and we got payed. We watched these really funny interactive cartoon videos on
hospitality and food safety. hehe. And we read, signed and dated a lot of
paperwork. We also just sat at the table talking to each
other, or just "exploring with our eyes",
as one guy put it. We were all wondering when we were
going to actually learn how to do the stuff we were hired to do. Oh, and
during the hospitality video and while we were reading through this book on how to
treat customers, and deal with complaints, and look for 'golden moments',
it was kind of funny to me, cuz i kept thinking of McDonald's
in Romania. And how the lady orienting
us would shudder at the lack of "Listen, Apologize..."and so
on, not to mention smiles and immecable quality of service. but anyway.
We received our McDonald's hats, which can also unzip so that instead of a baseball
cap, it's a visor. Which is cool. I should try wearing JUST the top part one
day. :D hehe. It looks like a jewish cap. I also got my tie, and
got to order my shoes, which they'll buy
for us. Cuz they have to be black, and have traction or some-
thing. They also are going to buy us our shirts. I got a "welcome aboard" pin,
too. :) AND my nametag, which is all official and magnetic. :D Yah. it'spretty exciting.
I'm supposed to call my manager today somtime after three-o'clock. That's
when we'll talk about what my schedule is going to be. I expect
that i'll get actually really trained in what
I'm going to do once i actually know what that is. makes sense.
Welllll, what else is happening? oh well, sinch my mom's gone, and my dad
and brother are going to a cabin with cam's friend and his dad, Emily and I will be the
only one's home this weekend. Basically from today at three-ish till Sunday
afternoon. And yah, we'll have a car, but it's a slight problem that
Emily doesn't take her driver's test till June 28.

untitled
My mom is leaving tomorrow for Romania! I'm so sorry I can't go with her!
She's moving us out of our apartment, with the help of many good friends there, whom I am very thankful for. Or rather, for whom i'm very thankful, if i were to be grammatically correct.
THINGS I PARTICULARLY MISS TODAY:
*wading through knee-deep water on the sidewalk
*chasing public (as in 'transportation', not 'the public' or anything. hehe)

*walking to school
*walking, in general
*Fornetti and Covrigi :D
*watching cartoon network in Romanian
*taking train-trips
*having guy friends to hang out with

Father's Day!
Yes. Today is Father's Day, and we had my grandparents, cousins, and uncle, all on my mom's side, over at our house, and ate lunch, and desert and the dad's (and grandpa) opened cards and gifts, and we all talked for a long time, and played croquet.
This is totally off topic, but at that friend's birthday party i went to a weekend or two ago, i got to play a Wii game for the first time ever. And I will say that I do not look upon new technological 'breakthroughs' with favor, in fact, often, as I did with Wii, it was a look of blatant disdain. But I have learned that I should not only not judge people without getting to know them, but also things they make without first trying them out before forming my opinion of their potential evils. I discovered, as I played Wii for the short 15 or so minutes that i did, that it was actually really fun, which was surprising, as few video games actually are to me. :D hehe. Here's another random picture. --or two. they're from may.

"Why'd You have to go and make everything so complicated?...."
Northwest...airlines...extended....our....tickets....YEAHHHH! Such a reilef! It seems like lately encouraging things have been happening every day! Praise the LORD!!! But we still need wisdom about lots of stuff. Like VBS. Am i going to be here still for that, really? But I still might....i need to prepare for both options, and i'm doing all the skits with one of my friends, so maybe we should get a 3rd person to learn my parts too. And then there's Sunshine, and Raymond visiting--not to mention the yrbook. But the yr book's not as important, of course :) All this cuz of our apartment, and school. But I know God is just teaching us to trust him, while giving us a little encouragement along the way, like today.

32 Minutes till Wednesday
I was just realising that the last day of school is NOT my favorite day of the year, as it is with most people. The last day of school, or soon after the last day, is the time when one in my situation must say good-bye to multiple people--every year. In fact, i'd be very likely to say that the first day of school is my favorite, because then you know that the people there are going to stay for at least several months--hopefully. I don't have time to write anything else. But I can't wait to get home.

The Weekend
Yeah. So..busy weekend. I went to my friend's good-bye party, ended up sleeping over, and we inadvertently (really, yes), talked till...ahem 4:02...in the morning. I woke up six hours later, she, seven. The one hour in between i filled with saying hi to her brother, (who is my friend also, and former Latin and Geography classmate),calling my mom, signing her memory book, then colouring a few pages in the Curios George colouring book i got for my birthday from a funny friend, and that i carry around in my purse--with crayons! That night i went with some friends and my mom and sister to a mutual friend's dance recital, which was really cool, cuz it was all Christian music, and the theme was Prayer. Then this morning we went to church, then Davanni's, then to a graduation open house. Then the sr. high from our youth group went to, the guy romo ppl would know as "the one i've known my whole life"'s house, :D and we all went swimming, which was entertaining, and fun. So I feel pretty good right now, all things considered. And I got to see some graduation pictures! :)

Epiphany
...I think that's how you spell that......
But that's why no one is online for me to talk to! They're all at graduation. So much for my webcam
idea! hehe. Today I'm going to my grandparents house with my mom, brother, and sister. I think we're going to stain some wodden chairs, among other tasks. And then I'm going to my other MK friend's goodbye party--which reminds me I need to get something for her! Here's some pictures...just for fun.

Primul
Yes, this is my first one! Exciting.... I'm kinda sad right now because Graduation is tomorrow and I'm on a different continent. But I'm happy that they got to have field day. All I did today was yard work. And listen to music. And write emails. Not that exciting. I still need a job!
